But don’t worry, our jeweller is here to show you professional tips on how to make them sparkle again. Follow these instructions carefully. 1. Toothbrush, soap and warm water method

Jewkingdom guide for all diamond and gemstone jewellery except pearls*, use this method.

Take a bowl and fill it with warm water.

Never wash jewellery over a sink as an earring or a lose stone could go down the drain.

Now add a bit of ordinary hand soap or a tiny drop of dishwashing liquid.

Soak your jewellery quickly, then scrub it gently with an old toothbrush and rinse.

Pat it dry with a lint free cloth.

You will notice a huge difference in how your diamonds sparkle.

2. Silver DIY clean

we advice only use this method on jewellery that’s made just with silver.

NEVER use it on any silver jewellery that has gems, diamonds or any other materials included in it, as they could get damaged.

To use this method, first, line a ceramic bowl with tin foil, shiny side up.

Fill the bowl with water, add a teaspoon of baking powder, a teaspoon of salt and a dash of white vinegar.

Then place your silver in the mixture for 1-5 minutes, keeping a close eye on how it starts to clean itself.

You can move it around a bit with a plastic spoon if you want.

As soon as it looks shiny and clean, take it out and rinse with water, pat dry and voila!

Your silver jewellery will have its shine back.

3. Treat pearls to a shampoo

As we said above, never, ever soak pearls in water! Instead, take a clean eye shadow brush, dip it in warm water with the tiniest bit of shampoo added.

Then gently brush each pearl individually with the brush. Avoid touching the knots of the necklace’s string, so they don’t get wet – this could discolour them, or tighten them, causing your necklace to lose shape.

Afterwards, first, wipe each pearl clean with a clean, EVER SO SLIGHTLY dampened cloth.

Then follow with another wipe with a dry, lint-free cloth.

Lay your pearls flat to dry to avoid stretching, or blow-dry them, laid flat, on a COLD hairdryer setting.

4. Non-sparkly diamonds? Pour a vodka

For a very quick fix…

if you’re heading off to a party and want to make your engagement ring or diamond studs really dazzle, soak them in a glass of vodka for one minute.

Afterwards, rinse well with cool water, pat dry with a clean cloth and wear to impress!

5. For convenience and safety use a Dazzle Stik
